Craniosacral Therapy

What is it? -How does it work?

Craniosacral Therapy is a relaxing,  not manipulating,  deep reaching massage technique, which has its roots in osteopathy.

The name Craniosacral Therapy is derived from the terms cranium (skull) and sacrum

(Sacroiliac joint).

Between the skull and the sacroiliac joint is the spinal cord, which like the brain, is surrounded by a nutrient rich liquid called cerebrospinal fluid.

The fluid flows at its own pace, regardless of the heart rate. The person receiving the treatment can feel the cerebrospinal fluid moving throughout the body, which in turn, gives the therapist, information about the client’s physical and emotional well being.

Soft touch techniques are then used on the head, the base of your spine and other areas encouraging your body to relax and make the changes it needs.

Because the body functions as a whole, the therapist may focus on areas other than where your symptoms occur.

Craniosacral Therapy has a self-regulating and regenerating effect on many different levels of the body, mind and soul.

How does a Craniosacral Therapy work?

The treatment is performed with the body clothed, on a comfortable treatment table. Soft manual impulses, gently stimulates the body in order to dissolve mental and physical blockages and to promote health and well-being within.

A short preliminary talk before the treatment, gives insight about the clients current condition.
